in the procedures and steps that HEA takes
to provide services, advising, and guidance for study abroad.

Individuals Applying. An individual may apply to be a Higher Ed Abroad Scholar through membership with HEA. Higher Ed Abroad (HEA) accepts students from recognized high schools and universities as well as academic organizations and associations, all known to Higher Ed Abroad. HEA also welcomes students who receive recommendations from teachers, professors, and individuals known to HEA. At present, membership in Higher Ed Abroad is limited to students recommended by entities known to HEA.
HEA Membership Application. Students applying for HEA membership identify their high school, university, or academic organization or association. HEA applicants also may include recommendations from teachers, professors, and individuals known to HEA. After the application review and confirmation, HEA provides the student with HEA membership and the designation as an HEA Scholar.
Quality Assurance. As a member of Higher Ed Abroad, the HEA Scholar can participate in the quality services that HEA provides, including guidance and advice about the university application process, securing a visa for study abroad, preparation for departure and living abroad, and achieving academic success. HEA can confirm to the receiving universities in the US and UK that the student applying to their institution is an HEA Scholar and has had the opportunity to participate in quality guidance and advising.
University Admissions. An HEA Scholar must meet the admission requirements of each US or UK university. All academic admission decisions are made by each university. Higher Ed Abroad has established relationships with destination universities in order to facilitate the university admission details for HEA Scholars. These HEA partnerships with US and UK universities enhance the opportunities for HEA Scholars.
